Toshiba Copiers in New Jersey: Lease Terms, Service Costs and What to Check Before You Renew
I can’t source Toshiba. If you already run an e-STUDIO, the supplies and software lines on your agreement are where to look.
Where the money actually goes on a Toshiba
Toshiba does not publish a consumables breakdown on the e-STUDIO spec sheets I can read, and that absence is itself the first thing to notice. The aftermarket parts catalogs covering the line list toner, the black drum, the color drums and developer as separate order numbers — but a retailer’s catalog is not a manufacturer’s statement of what a service agreement ought to cover. In practice toner is swapped at the machine, while the drum, developer, fuser and transfer belt are technician items. So the question to put to a Toshiba quote is not whether supplies are included, it is which items the click actually covers: drum, developer, fuser and transfer belt are the four to make them name individually and in writing, rather than accepting an all-inclusive label and finding the carve-outs later.
What to check on a Toshiba agreement
Elevate Sky print management is sold as a separate software-as-a-service subscription, available from both Toshiba dealers and Toshiba’s own direct sales locations. Check whether that subscription runs on the same clock as the hardware lease or renews independently on its own term. The other thing to pin down is who you actually bought from: Toshiba sells in this market both through independent dealers and through its own company-owned Toshiba Business Solutions operation, and those are separate companies with separate service desks. Get in writing which one you call.
What this line suits
The 331AC and 401AC pair puts a full color MFP feature set into a letter-size footprint for a smaller workgroup, and Toshiba publishes the two together as one series. Toshiba Tec also placed first for A3 MFPs in The Cannata Report’s dealer survey two years running — a dealer-satisfaction finding rather than a statement about any particular machine, but worth knowing when you are choosing between comparable quotes.
Model families you are likely to see quoted:
- e-STUDIO 2525AC-6525AC series (A3 color)
- e-STUDIO 6527AC / 7527AC series (A3 color, high speed)
- e-STUDIO 2528A-6528A series (A3 monochrome)
- e-STUDIO 9029A series (high-volume A3 monochrome)
- e-STUDIO 331AC / 401AC series (A4 color)
Worth knowing about Toshiba right now
Toshiba Tec moved MFP development and manufacturing into ETRIA, a joint venture formed with Ricoh on July 1, 2024; OKI folded its MFP development and production in on October 1, 2025, leaving Ricoh at roughly 80.7 percent, Toshiba Tec at roughly 14.3 percent and OKI at roughly 5 percent. Toshiba Tec continues to sell, service and brand its own machines and retains its own controller technology and interface. The first ETRIA-integrated model for Toshiba Tec is slated for FY2026 and is an A3 color entry-level model for the Chinese market, so an e-STUDIO quoted or installed in New Jersey today is still Toshiba-engineered hardware. Worth knowing before signing a sixty-month term, but it is a manufacturing change rather than a change to who answers a service call.
Send me the agreement and I’ll tell you which of this actually applies to your machine and what the numbers should be. That’s free, and it doesn’t depend on whether you end up buying anything from me.
