Lexmark Copiers in New Jersey: Lease Terms, Service Costs and What to Check Before You Renew
Acquired by Xerox in 2025; the brand is expected to be retired over time.
What to check on a Lexmark agreement
The equipment is rarely the problem. Copier agreements go wrong in the same four places, and they are all in the paperwork rather than the machine:
- The cost per page, and the overage rate. The monthly payment is the number people negotiate. The click charge is where the money actually is over sixty months.
- Whether it’s a fair-market-value or $1-buyout lease. They look similar on the payment line and end very differently.
- The auto-renewal clause. Evergreen terms roll you into another year if you miss a notice window that is often 90 to 120 days before term end.
- What happens at the end. Return freight, de-installation, and end-of-term condition penalties are usually the surprise.
Send me the agreement and I’ll tell you which of those four apply to you and what the number should be. That’s free, and it doesn’t depend on whether you end up buying anything from me.
