Konica Minolta Copiers in New Jersey: Lease Terms, Service Costs and What to Check Before You Renew
On a bizhub the toner, drum and developer are stocked separately per color, and Konica Minolta also markets a flat-rate plan that replaces the usual per-page billing shape.
Where the money actually goes on a Konica Minolta
Konica Minolta markets a flat-rate structure in the United States called One Rate, whose published promise is one consistent monthly invoice with no meter reads, no overage charges and no service escalators. What that monthly figure actually covers is not published, so ask for the coverage schedule in writing rather than assuming supplies and service sit inside it — a plan with no meter read is a different negotiation from a click rate, and the thing to establish is what happens if the volume you run turns out to be nothing like the volume the plan was written against. On the machine itself the toner, the drum and the developer are stocked separately per color, the waste toner container is its own shared item, and the fuser and transfer belt sit alongside them as their own periodic replacements — so a supplies-inclusive clause that names toner and nothing else leaves several distinct wear items available to be argued about later in the term.
What to check on a Konica Minolta agreement
Scan capabilities that feel like they ought to be standard — searchable PDF among them — are sold on bizhub as i-Option license kits, LK-105 for searchable PDF and LK-110 bundling it with LK-102. They are activated against one specific machine’s serial number through Konica Minolta’s License Management Server rather than being a property of the account. Because the license is registered to the serial, get it in writing who re-purchases those functions if the device is swapped or upgraded mid-term, and confirm before signing whether the licenses you are being quoted are already included or are a separate line.
What this line suits
An office that would rather negotiate one monthly number than a click rate, and that can state its volume honestly up front — the published One Rate promise is a plan with no meter reads, which is only worth having if the volume it is written against is realistic. It also has a path upward into light production through AccurioPress, so an operation whose volume is drifting toward an in-house print room can grow without changing manufacturer.

Worth knowing about Konica Minolta right now
In January 2025 Konica Minolta and FUJIFILM Business Innovation established a jointly owned procurement company, Global Procurement Partners, with Fujifilm holding the majority stake — it handles procurement of raw materials and parts for both companies' multifunction and office printer operations. It follows an April 2024 memorandum under which the two studied a wider alliance, but as constituted it is a procurement arrangement: it does not merge the product lines, the brands or the service organizations. A separate strand of that same 2024 memorandum covers toner development and production, which is worth watching, but as of the announcements on record nothing has changed about who services an installed machine. Separately, and relevant to a buyer in this state, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. is headquartered in Ramsey, New Jersey.
Send me the agreement and I’ll tell you which of this actually applies to your machine and what the numbers should be. That’s free, and it doesn’t depend on whether you end up buying anything from me.
